This shampoo, it's a game changer people.
When I get the idea in my head that I want something, I'm pretty stubborn and will usually end up buying it eventually. This was one of those times. I hadn't really read many reviews of the Intelligent Nutrients range and just stumbled upon their haircare on an internet binge. I was sold after reading the description and just couldn't get it out of my head, despite the £18 price tag I knew I needed it because I knew it was going to be awesome. Good job I was right ;)
So I've probably shocked you straight away with the price right? Eighteen pounds is a LOT for a bottle of shampoo, I know I know, my previous favourite was a cheap and cheerful (yet still natural) £4 and I used it religiously for 2 years, surely my hair deserved a treat?! But I do have to point out that you get a whopping 444ml of shampoo in this giant bottle, nearly double your average bottle of bubbles from Boots and lets not forget the likes of Bumble & Bumble and Ojon, you pay the same price for only 250ml with plenty of harsh, stripping chemicals in their formulas. I mean, really why would you choose them over this? I'll tell you...
1) It's non toxic and gluten free. There are no sulphates, parabens, silicones, PEG's, synthetic fragrances ethoxylates or phthalates.
2) Suitable for every hair type, it's fab at removing buildup, cleansing the scalp and hair, volumising, de-frizzing plus it's shine and softness enhancing. Oh and apparently it's anti-ageing!
3) It smells minty.
4) It lathers up a treat, especially on the second wash, hellloooo bubbles.
5) Hair stays cleaner for longer.
Are you swayed yet? There's really no downsides to this bad boy. It's going to last you ages, it's completely natural, gentle and you can even use it as a face wash!? Sold.
What's really great about natural shampoo's like this one is their ability to balance your hair. If you have an oily scalp and dry ends, its probably because your haircare is all wrong, your hair is being stripped of it's natural oils and freaking out. With this shampoo I've found my hair doesn't really get greasy anymore (though I still wash it every other day out of habit and I like feeling super clean hair) and my ends are a lot less dry/frizzy/out of control. It just seems like my hair is happy, is that crazy? If you have super dry or damaged hair you could try the Pure Luxe range from Intelligent Nutrients instead. I've tried a sample size and it is very very rich!
I'm sure you're also wondering about the conditioner, yes there is one but no I do not currently own it. At the time when I was buying this (October) I already had plenty of conditioner which has lasted me even longer now as I no longer need as much of the stuff thanks to the Harmonic shampoo! I will probably pick up a bottle at some point but who know's how long it would take me to get through nearly half a litre of conditioner!
Would I repurchase this? Yes without a doubt! I'm nearing the end of my bottle now... though I could be swayed into trying some Rahua haircare too ;)
What do you think of natural/organic haircare? would you try this shampoo?
The Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic Shampoo is available from Naturisimo, Being Content & Feelunique. All with free delivery ;)
I find it quite strange because I tried their shampoo & conditioner from a Souk Souk box and it just didn't work for me. I double shampooed & then used the conditioner but my hair just felt really heavy and greasy after. So I tried it without the conditioner and it worked fine! I even double shampooed with a different shampoo and the used the conditioner and that was fine. So together = bad greasy hair but separate = great hair! Weird!! Great review of this and I love the smell too don't you?? x
ReplyDeleteAh that's disappointing! Maybe I'll pass on the conditioner then, but the Shampoo alone is my favourite!
DeleteYES the smell is so good ;) x
I'm really keen to try a sulphate free shampoo - I can feel my hair not being too happy at the moment. This seems like an excellent buy and will be reaching for it come pay day! x
ReplyDeleteYay glad to have persuaded you! ;) x
DeleteNice review! not sure I will use it as a face washm but def willing to try it as a shamppo despite Amber's soso point of view regarding it :-)xx
ReplyDeleteHaha me neither, it just says it can be used as one on the bottle, good for a holiday perhaps :D x
DeleteYou've persuaded me. Especially with the bit about oily scalp and dry ends, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I use natural products and oil my hair frequently. But if this makes the difference I'm definitely going to try it
ReplyDeleteThanks :)

YES it does!! ;) x
DeleteOh this one sounds really nice & right up my alley! I've been washing my hair less the past few months (took me some time to get to three days in between, but yay I succeeded!) and it's amazing to see how LONG a bottle of shampoo now lasts me! It makes spending more on good, natural shampoo less painful :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I think I still go through this quite quick as I have so much hair! I'm glad it's such a large bottle hahaha x
DeleteI've never really found a shampoo that I have stuck with, usually I am a sucker for a buy one get one free deal in the supermarket lol! This does sound pretty amazing, I will certainly be checking it out. Great review too. Love your writing, I'm a new follower so been catching up on all your posts :) Becki from www.lifelooksperfect.com xx

Ahhhh Successsss!! x
DeleteI went to look this up and found it still contains a surfactant, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, which is not surprising considering that you say it lathers well. I'd just urge caution, that this is still not a "natural" product.
ReplyDeleteI had a look at this too, it's just a derivative of coconut oil, a lot like castille soap (such as dr bronners) which foam up like crazy and are completely natural. It doesn't bother me and I would still class it as natural as it's not a chemical :) xx
DeleteI've had such a bad track record when it comes to organic shampoos but you may have sold me on this one and I'll probably give it a try. :)
ReplyDeleteYay so glad! :D xxx
DeleteSounds amazing! I don't mind splashing out on products that have good ingredients, will last a long time and work. Need to add this to my wishlist :) x
