A Dreamy Hair Duo.

true nature botanicals shampoo conditioner
When your favourite brand strays from their solid line of skincare to release a shampoo & conditioner duo out of the blue, you know it's going to be good. I am yet to be disappointed by anything from True Nature Botanicals, call me a fangirl if you will but there's something a little special happening in those brown glass bottles (and now aluminium, too!) where science perfectly blends with nature to create skincare that's not only good for you and the environment, but really, truly offers incredible results.

Whilst the release was out of the blue, TNB have been busy working on this formula for several years, with lots of testing, experimentation and research involved. All of that time and effort was definitely worth it in the end though because the products are fantastic.

Natural shampoo's tend to have a stigma attached that they have a poor lather and don't clean hair very well. Whilst this did used to be the case for some I have used a number of natural haircare ranges that do bubble up very well indeed and leave my hair feeling just as it should. TNB spent a lot of time looking at natural ingredients to create that lush, perfect lather that we're all after - in the end they decided on cocomidopropyl hydroxysultaine, a surfactant derived from coconuts in a much safer, less toxic way than SLS is. This gives the shampoo GREAT lather, seriously, it's so, so creamy and rich and really moisturises and softens the hair but still rinses easily and leaves it feeling cleansed but not too squeaky clean. The reason this isn't used in many other natural and non-natural shampoo's is the price! it's expensive to make and expensive to buy.

The Shampoo also contains green tea oil, meadowfoam seed oil and aloe vera to offer a number of hair and scalp benefits, from balancing and nourishing to reducing flakiness. From the very first use I noticed my hair was softer, shinier and much easier to handle. My hair has been rather dull and lifeless lately as it's really due a big cut (and maybe a little colour!) but introducing both the shampoo and conditioner into my routine has brought some life back into my locks! Anyone who has followed my blog for a long time knows my many beauty woes, one of them being I have an extremely stressed and irritated scalp, it's so fussy and my usual favourite shampoo for saving the day hasn't been cutting it anymore and I've been so worried about trying to find something that will help, luckily the TNB Shampoo has done a fine job at keeping things calm around here - it's not perfect but my case is extreme and hopefully with long-term use my scalp will improve.
I also have to mention the scent before I move onto the conditioner - it's dreamy! There's no artificial fragrance or parfum here, only a unique essential oil blend that reminds me of sweet freshly cut grass and... watermelons! It's very fresh and the aroma changes as you massage it into hair turning a little more floral. So lovely!

The Conditioner is also another winner - a rare find as I'm usually only a fan of one or the other with most duo's that I test. It has a beautifully light but still creamy texture. It's not thick or gloopy and applies to hair very well, and even better it rinses completely clean. It rids my hair of any knots and leaves it feeling super silky. I can't tell which product is responsible for the shine and softness I get once my hair is dry - I assume it's both! But really, this is one of the very few conditioners I've used that isn't going to be phased out and used as a shaving cream.

And finally, a HUGE shout out to the gorgeous packaging that make these bottles ($30/$32 ea) worth every penny. It's a little thing but they look lovely on my bath and the pump action is so smooth, weird, but I like it. I really hope there's refills in the works as I won't be throwing these bottles away any time soon.

TLDR; Your hair needs these.
