Today is a pretty special day! Today marks the one year anniversary of True Nature Botanicals! If there is one brand that takes over my skincare routine the most - and has changed my skin the most - it's True Nature Botanicals (Let's say TNB from now on, hey?). There are easily evenings where my whole routine is TNB and I don't regret it one bit, I love it. I know us beauty addicts like to chop and change their skincare a lot, and it's fine to mix and match brands, but when everything comes together just so and you use only one brand's products, it's SO satisfying and my skin probably does a little sigh of relief.
I've been meaning to review one of my favourite products: The Balancing Face Oil, for a few weeks now, but when I heard about the anniversary offer I had to put a pin in it and hold off to bring you something extra special. Everyone loves a good giveaway, right?! and this really is EXTRA special as it's only available for 24 hours, it is an anniversary after all! So make sure you enter at the end of the post!
Now onto my review...
I have used two out of three of the TNB face oils, and having tried the original and fallen in love with it's serious GLOW giving properties I wasn't sure how to feel about the new kid on the block - the Balancing Face Oil when it first launched. The ingredients sounded perfect in every way (as you would expect) and as my skin was seriously freaking out at the time it was the perfect time to give it a go, as there was nothing balanced about my complexion.
This oil is unique in my collection as it contains a majority of linoleic acid rich oils, normally I am excited reading the ingredients list of a promising facial oil, only to discover the second or third oil used in the blend is one that is very much oleic acid based, making the oil thicker and richer - A.K.A. not ideal for my skin type. The ingredients here (see below) speak volumes about the quality of this facial oil and TNB themselves - they care about their formulations, you won't find any filler or cheap ingredients here (unless said cheap ingredients work of course!) The oil is 92% organic, a huge feat with that amount of ingredients and really, it shows.
The oil is silky smooth and the perfect consistency for someone who is concerned with oily, blemish prone skin, like me. It's so thin, like water and sinks into skin in moments. This is one of only two oils I would dare to use on my skin in the morning, as I know it really does absorb into my skin and I can apply my makeup without fear of it slipping off.
When I use this in the evenings I know I'm going to wake up with a really calm and balanced complexion, no redness and any blemishes I do have are soothed and busy healing themselves. This isn't a targeted spot treatment, but I do notice it really helps with blemishes, especially in speeding up healing time and reducing their size. We can thank the epic ingredients for that: helichrysum, black cumin seed, watermelon seed, pumpkin, cranberry... and so many more.
My only dilemma with this oil is I'm not sure which I love more, this one or it's big sister the original Face Oil. I think for me right now the Balancing Face Oil wins as this is what my complexion needs at this moment in time, in a few years though? Hopefully my skin will be blemish free and I'll be back on the original. Hey, If it ain't broke...
