Loving Lately #28

As always, my loving lately post is not on time... I always plan these for a Friday, but you know me, less than organised and rushing to type this up on a Saturday afternoon!

I've been really happy with my skin this past week but what do you know things took a turn for the worst yesterday and I woke up with a blotchy face, not sure why but luckily my first favourite, the Jane Iredale Purepressed Base was perfect for covering up all that nonsense without irritating my skin any further. Seen here is a little sample size I ordered from Beauty Time Therapies, I have the shade Bisque which is a very pale yellow toned shade, perfect for cancelling out redness. I have been so impressed with this little sample, I've been using it for 3 weeks now without any sign of running out. I also ordered the Amazing Base Mineral Foundation in the shade Ivory, an even paler shade with a satin finish. I'm not sure which I like best and may have to order the same colours in opposite formulas to experiment more (seeing as they're such amazing value for the time they last!)

Next up I have been loving the Therapi Lemon Myrtle Purifying Facial Toner* as a lovely refreshing toner. The spritz is quite violent (if that's a way to describe your face being squirted with water) so I prefer to spritz onto a cotton pad and use it that way. I like how it makes me skin feel and think it did help my skin. I have been testing the whole Lemon Myrtle range and this is my favourite so far, there's quite a lot of essential oils in the products and using them all at once made my skin freak out and go bright red, so I've been taking it slow with testing this range.

Lastly we have yet another S5 product. S5 have been getting a lot of coverage on my blog lately, both good and bad but I don't see anything wrong with that, there's always going to be products from a brand that agree or disagree with your skin. It takes me forever to make up my mind if I truly do like a skincare product, I'm very fussy. I still haven't made my mind up about the S5 Balancing Fluid* but I did use it practically every day last week (I kept a skincare diary so will be doing a post on my routine soon) which is unusual for me. Its a very strange consistency, like a sticky very runny cream (it should definitely be in a pump bottle, not a jar) but it massages into skin easily enough without leaving behind any residue. Parfum is the fourth ingredient so you can imagine that makes me cringe a little, but even so I think this has helped my skin stay calmer than usual.... more testing required!

What have you been loving this week??

  1. I know what you mean about the Balance Fluid's consistency, but I actually really like that about, think it sinks in much better than other moisturisers and borders on a serum I suppose. It's not my fav range for purity of ingredients either, but have to admit I can't get enough of that smell!

  3. Spray toners have been saving my life lately- I can't wake up and be happy without a little spritz now! Who knew...? I have been using Angel Face's Lavender/Aloe toner and although it is also rather "violent" - I kind of LOVE that... it's like, "wake up!!" Gosh all these products look so pretty too... thanks for the reviews.... wish list! :0) Kathryne @getunsullied :0)

  4. I love Jane Iredale makeup but it just got a bit expensive. I do want to re-purchase their eyelash primer though xx

  5. I really want to give the S5 serums a try after reading your lovely posts on them. It also go to show that not all products from one brand may suited to our skin. I'm currently loving the Lily LoLo make-up range & Elemental Herbology moisture milk.
