Mid-Week Pick Me Up.

By the time it gets to Wednesday it feels like the weekend was a million years ago, and that it may never ever be the weekend again. So I often like to make sure Wednesdays are a little special to get over hump-day. Coincidentally I'm not scheduled to be in university on Wednesdays and Michael only has an hour lecture early in the morning so we often take advantage of Orange Wednesdays with a trip to the cinema or have something nice for tea - kinda like a date night but not really because we're not that romantic.

In regards to beauty I like to do a little 3 step pamper, nothing involving too much effort but a bit of a treat for my skin.
I've been using my Clarisonic a lot more recently (because I finally got a new delicate brush head for it!) and it makes my skin feel so clean and helps with the awful milia I am plagued with all over my cheeks. I only use this a few times a week but if I stick at it my skin does really improve. After using my clarisonic with something like the REN Clearcalm, I then treat myself to the most incredible skincare purchase of my life (actually it was a gift but I'd purchase it again and again) May Lindstrom's The Problem Solver.
I've actually been keeping this a secret from you for two months now as I just felt we needed some alone time, y'know?! It is the most wonderful mask that to be quite honest my words will never do justice for. A powder to mousse formula that kicks breakouts to the curb and leaves my skin softer than a baby's bum (maybe). The jet black mask is blend of potent, raw and healing ingredients. Fullers earth, Rhassoul Clay, Raw cacao, Red Alaea Sea Salt, Vitamin C, Marshmallow Root... just a few of the dreamy ingredients. I'm going to have to stop myself before this turns into a full blown review (soon!) but since using this every week without fail for the past two months I have noticed such a difference in my skin, sure I still get my hormonal friends but with this they're easily contained, all problems are solved ;) see what I did there.

Treatment time for The Problem Solver is 45 minutes, perfect for some blog reading and scaring the boyfriend. Once I've rinsed it away (don't destroy your white face cloths, it stains) my skin doesn't feel dry or tight in the slightest like it would with a regular drying mask so I like to keep it simple and just layer on a facial oil. At the moment I'm quite liking the S5 Replenish* or Balance Me's Radiance oil or (not pictured) Melvita's Avocado oil. This way my skin isn't overloaded with creams and serums and stays glowy from the May Lindstrom heaven it just received.

Do you indulge in a mid-week pamper?

  2. I got a sample of the Problem Solver through Spirit Beauty Lounge. It was only one use, but wow did it feel and smell incredible! It's so expensive so I am only allowing myself to purchase it once I am done with the rest of my stash, but sometimes I dream about it...

  5. I've been so on the fence about the Clarisonic. I really want to purchase it but it's so pricey that it's really hard to justify. :(

  6. This mask seems like just what I need! Been having some problems with breakouts recently, but most clay masks are so drying they just exacerbate the whole issue! Will have to wait to read your full review :)
