Autumn Ready Beauty Essentials // Guest Post.

Hello lovely Fragmented Splendour readers, Annie asked me to whip together a guest post whilst she's off sunning it up in Spain so I thought I would share with you some of my Autumn Beauty Essentials as we're all preparing to make the transition from summer to autumn. I'm a complete Autumn/Winter girl, I love layers of scarves and thick cardigans and curling up with a film and a hot chocolate, and my beauty routine is no different. I'm not one for anything to heavy or thick, but I'm for sure preparing to up the moisture and hydration as the weather starts to turn and the central heating comes on.

In the spring and summer I tend to just use a dry body oil on a day to day basis, but I'm going to start reaching for Korres Fig Body Butter* to give my limbs the hydration it craves. I've never really tried anything Fig scented before, but I can now officially say that I'm on the Fig loving train. Fresh and fruity and quite subtle, this body butter is a dream to apply as it's not thick or greasy in the slightest and sinks into the skin almost immediately. Packed full of Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and Almond Oil, my body is left soft, smooth and dry patch free. Skincare wise, I'm sticking to products I know my skin likes as my complexion always plays up a little during seasonal transitions (please tell me I'm not the only one?!) As I have combination skin I'm going to be reaching for something that's purifying as well as being nourishing. The Antipodes Juliet Cleanser is one of my all time favourites, the fact that it smells like delicious apples doesn't hurt. Full of skin friendly ingredients like Manuka Honey, Kiwi Fruit and Hibiscus, this gel cleanser aims to reduce and balance oil production, and leave the skin bright and clear for a healthy glowing complexion. This cleanser always leaves my skin balanced, soothed and calm and not red and angry in the slightest and I couldn't recommend it enough for anyone with combination/oily skin prone to blemishes and dullness.

My hair tends to lean on the frizzy side all year round, weather it's from humidity or rain, or constant heat styling abuse, my locks need a helping hand to stay frizz free and smooth. The Bumble and BumbleDefrizz is a great little option as a couple of pumps of this smoothed through my hair in the morning means that I don't have to worry about frizz for the rest of the day. Whether I wear my hair straight or with a slight wave, introducing this Bumble and Bumble number into my routine has meant my hair stays sleek and smooth all day long. Finally, makeup wise I have a fail safe foundation that I reach for all times of the year to guarantee my skin is covered, fresh and glowing. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation is one of my all time favourites as it offers medium to full coverage, with a semi matte finish that lasts on the skin all day long. I can count on LS to cover my acne scars and breakouts and last on my skin all day without turning patchy. As my skin can be on the oily side, it's great that I can count on this foundation to cover up my flaws all day long until it's time to fall into bed and reach for the Bioderma. I sometimes add some facial oil to the mix, usually the Nude ProGenius, to amp up the glow and radiance, and I think Luminous Silk will be one of my go to foundations for years to come.

Thanks so much for having me you lovely lot, I'd love to know if you have any recommendations for getting myself beauty ready for autumn?

  8. I've heard so much about the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, and it seems too good to be true. Is it worth investing in for us dry skinned girls, do you think? xo
