REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate Review.

Ahhh REN, you are wonderful. It was around this time last year that I went a little REN crazy, over the course of a few months I bought about half of the range (exaggerating of course but still...) and loved every single thing I tried. Sadly, most of it has been used up now, except for this little trooper, the Resurfacing AHA Concentrate.

With still half a bottle left from semi regular use over the past year, this is definitely worth the pennies (though finding a discount code is always like christmas!). There are plenty of liquid exfoliators on the market, though it seems us bloggers always stick to the same few! This is one I don't see mentioned quite as often as say Liquid Gold but it is very similar. This is a potent blend of natural fruit acids (glycolic, lactic, tartaric and citric acids) to resurface skin while you sleep and leave you with a smoother, brighter complexion that glows. Pretty bold claims no?

I tend to use this neat on my skin after cleansing at night to allow it to go about it's business uninterrupted. Lately though I've been following with a brightening serum, either straight away or just before I go to sleep to up the brightening effect and get to work fading some nasty scars.
I don't find this to tingle at all on my skin unless I have been regularly using exfoliating products or my clarisonic. Even then though it's not unpleasant and is a lot more gentle than Liquid Gold. If you have sensitive skin this would be something to consider but be careful and see if you can test out a sample first.

I like to use this more when my skin is looking drab or starting to break out, it helps me feel fresh come morning and calm my skin if it's in the danger zone. It's not a miracle worker but I'm pretty pessimistic with skincare and nothing is going to give me flawless skin thanks to my hormones. I do notice a difference when I use this regularly though and have incorporated it back into my routine recently after it was forgotten about for a little while (I really need to use it up!). If you're a fan of more natural, cruelty free skincare, then REN is highly recommended by me! The radiance & combination ranges are fab! I think I need to repurchase a few old favourites asap...

The REN Resurfacing Concentrate is £30 for 30ml here.
Is this something you would consider trying?

  2. I have a bottle here, I like the way it works, but I almost can´t stand the smell. So I turned to Liquid Gold and only touch the REN Concentrate about once in a month or less.

  7. I bought this after Kate (gh0stparties)'s recommendation and when I first used it, it was amazing. I did it every night for a week and then off for two weeks. But after a month or two, I saw very little improvement. I have moderate-severe acne so that's my marker. I suspect it's because the small % of glycolic acid and my penchant for daily exfoliation. Oh well. :)

  8. I tried this and really wanted to love it but I think I need something more powerful for my very oily skin... going to try one of the BHA toners by Peter Thomas Roth next!

  10. I've been dying to try this but it's quite pricey and I'm not sure if I want to put out that much money for it yet. I've been using Pepta-bright by Indeed Labs and it has made my skin much more radiant already. If I ever catch a discount code for this REN one though, I might just have to get it.
