The Desert Island Hair Duo.

When it comes to haircare, simplicity is key. I'm not one for styling, or actually putting any real effort into making my hair presentable, mainly because I just have so much of it! It's not particularly thick or thin, there's just crazy amounts of hair on my head and it can become a real pain to deal with!

Lately I have been showing some love to this little Bumble & Bumble hair duo with impressive results! I've had both sitting around for quite some time and not really known what to do with either, especially because the Brilliantine can be a little scary - less definitely is more with this! The Styling Creme was another enigma as like I said I don't really style my hair so had no idea really how to make use of this little bottle.

But now I have, and the angels are singing! (well, almost.) I do all of my hair 'styling' when it's still damp so there's no faffing about later and just let it dry naturally. This works for me about 98% of the time, unless I'm having a really bad hair day and the straighteners need to get dusted off.
It's really quite simple, no tutorial here. I take roughly a pea sized amount of each and mix together in my hands before working it haphazardly through my hair, usually starting at the ends and working my way up, scrunching it here and there and hoping for the best. I think it's important to really work this into the hair as the Brilliantine is mix of oils (the good ones) and while it's nourishing it can also make you a little bit... greasy (nice, right?!) so watch out with this. The Styling Creme seems to add a little hold and texture while helping keep my hair under control. I definitely notice a difference when I only use the brilliantine on it's own, the Styling Creme just brings a little oopmh to the table (oooh er!).

Together they leave me with shiny, slightly textured hair that isn't a wavy, wild, frizzy rats nest like usual. Granted I think having most of it chopped off not so long ago also helped with that!

Have you tried either of these products before? Do you struggle with wild hair problems? ;)

  1. Sounds like a really good little combo! I'm all about beachy 'lazy' hair so I think I'll be checking these out :) xx
