Daily Essentials.

Even though I can have quite a few products on rotation sometimes, I notice that I also go through phases with products I'll deem 'essential', using them everyday because they're new, or from habit. I thought it would be interesting to occasionally post what my current essentials are, because they can change quite often depending on my skin or the weather!

At the moment I'm currently visiting home and don't have my whole skincare stash with me, so there's not a lot of variety going on. I've only got my fail safe favourites plus a few extras should disaster strike.

I religiously use my Hydraluron everyday and have done for the past 9 or so months (time for a review maybe?!) always in the mornings and most nights too, depending on what skincare I'm using, this has balanced out my skin so so much, an absolute essential! I'm also currently trying out the much hyped La-Roche Posay's Effaclar Duo*. I've used this every morning and a few evenings for just over a week now and it has simultaneously made my skin better and worse, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet so I'm just hoping for the best! Another skincare staple is my much loved Elemental Herbology Moisture Milk, yes... I'm still loving this. I use it at least once a day either morning or night, whatever takes my fancy. It makes a great base for makeup but you must wear SPF at all times because of the AHA's!

For makeup I have all the usuals but for days when I'm not doing anything it's usually just a bit of eyeliner (currently the Inika Mineral Eyeliner which is amazing - urban decay quality.. and they're my all time favourites so that's saying something!) and a few dots of the Collection Illuminating Touch to tone down redness and blemish scars so I don't feel quite as bad showing off a bare face. I usually blend that in with the Real Techniques Contour Brush from the Core Collection, one of my favourite brushes for odd little jobs.

Lastly are two little extras, I've been taking the Boots Skin, Hair & Nails supplements/vitamins for a little while now, not sure if they're doing a lot yet but they have a lot of good stuff in them! I've also finally found a cheap deodorant with the leaping bunny logo on! From the M&S Nature's Extracts range, I have the coconut scented one which is a bit weird under your arms but a nice change to something strongly artificial smelling. Never thought I'd be blogging about deodorant but it is an essential so there ya go! ;)

What are some of your daily essentials?

  1. I use Effaclar Duo as well! Some of my daily essentials atm are my Nivea moisturiser, a lip butter from TBS and a bit of concealer! x

  2. I'm so bad with this kind of thing.. Mostly I manage to keep up with daily skincare in the vein of clinique 3 step. Some days I just take my make up off with wipes (I only ever wear mascara and eyeliner so it's not like I have layers of foundation to remove but still..)

I'll never be a beauty blogger, haha xx

  4. I'm yet to try Hydraluron but I really want to! I love Effaclar Duo too - I stocked up on 3 bottles the other day for fear of running out unexpectedly! x

  6. I'd love to try some Elemental Herbology products, they sound divine :) I'm in two minds over Duo too, it did help areas of breakouts and blemishes but it also dried my skin out a lot!

  8. I love the Real Techniques contour brush! I use it to apply blusher, because I liked it applied quite precisely. Such an amazing brush!

  9. I find that the Effaclar Duo also makes my skin 'better and worse', as it surfaces all of my spots which makes them look awful, but makes them go away in five days instead of three weeks like they normally would!xxx

  10. I tried so hard to like the Effaclar Duo (bought two when Boots was having an offer even!) but it dried me out so badly and felt really silicone-y. I wish it worked for me though. Haha, I'd love to send you my unused one since I don't have any use for it.

Great post; I enjoy reading your blog so much! x

  12. I was really worried when I tried Effaclar Duo for the first time. The first two weeks of using it were an absolute nightmare, my skin got so much worse. However, it slowly started to really clear up as the product declogged my pores. I've switched to using this every night only with a bit of moisturizer on top and I find that it helps to prevent new breakouts (I get way less now!).
