Loving Lately #9

This week I have had very little time to think about beauty thanks to an awful report I had to write on my career prospects with a degree in Fine Art. Unfortunately I didn't get to write about becoming a super mega famous blogger in the near future.. or else I'd have been done in an hour ;) On the plus side though I am finished with university now for the summer and blogging can resume!

Thanks to all my deadlines causing me plenty of stress my skin wasn't looking it's best and I got a few unwelcome friends on my chin, nice. In my stash of spot fighters and skin saviours I have this little unloved pot of balm from Darphin... a very fancy little pot mind you - it's heavy too. Designed to purify and soothe skin it was right up my street. I've actually had this in my collection for quite a while now & I'm never sure how to go about applying it, it's a solid balm and requires a real good massage into skin, no slather and go allowed here. But even after this I still found my skin incredibly greasy feeling hours later and so wasn't sure I was using it correctly! After digging it out again this week I applied it sparingly only to areas that needed it and really massaged it into my skin. This is a spot miracle worker really, come morning they're calm and redness is reduced. I need to start experimenting with this little pot more!

Seeing as I've been stuck inside for quite some time and going stir crazy... in moments of boredom I often end up in front of the mirror and experimenting with makeup I'm too chicken to wear outside. My  beyond beautiful Nars Ashes to Ashes eyeshadow and Urban Decay liner in Zero made a simple yet impressive smokey eye that was really fun to play around with - I usually keep my eye makeup simple because thanks to my glasses you can't even see it!!

What have you been loving this week?
