An Easy Base Duo.

Lately I have been real lazy with my makeup application (I say lately but lets face it, I mean always) and discovered this little cheat to spare me an extra minute. Because some mornings it's a chore just to try and look less like you're straight from the set of The Walking Dead.

My REN T-Zone Balancing Day Fluid is on it's very very last legs now, any day now it'll be in an empties post I'm sure of it. It's excellent at helping my skin stay oil free during the day, I notice such a difference when I use this compared to any other moisturiser. I've been giving it a good send off these past few days mixing it with my Benefit Hello Flawless foundation, it's a little too dark for me when I use it on it's own, but a drop or two added to the moisturiser is like my own homemade tinted moisturiser or bb cream.

What I like most is using my fingers though, because I'm applying moisturiser I blend and massage it in like normal all over my face and this creates the most seamless finish as I'm blending in the foundation at the same time. I then go around the edges with my buffing brush to make sure there's no visible lines and if I need it blend a little more foundation in areas that need it, usually around my rudolph nose ;)
I also love that I'm finally getting to make use of a foundation that's been hidden away for most of winter, and as soon as I get a bit of colour I wont need to worry about sheering it out so much! It's a really nice foundation that I don't actually hear much about in the blogging world anymore. I just wish it came in a paler, less yellow toned shade!

Do you ever create shortcuts or cheats for when applying makeup on lazy days?

P.S. I would love it if you would nominate me for 'best new beauty blog' in the cosmo blog awards (if you'd like to of course, it would mean a lot!) I've been properly beauty blogging for a year now so thought I'd give it a shot! Thank you m'dears,  :) xo

  2. I always cheat :p Because I don't have foundation, I mix a little bit of my concealer in my moisturizer and it works amazingly as a tinted moisturizer! I guess this is similar to what you've been doing, hahaha :)

  6. oooh i might try this, I got a good sized sample of the foundation and it is a little dark, but luckily because its's quite sheer it's not too noticeable... I think.

  10. I've never bought it but I tried a sample and that's a great foundation! I'm pretty lazy with my base too, I like using my fingers best to achieve a natural coverage.

  11. The Ren T-Zone fluid sounds as though it would be perfect for me as my T-Zone area causes me a lot of problems in the summer! I've also been wanting to try out that Benefit foundation for a while, it's really only the price that has been putting me off. Dx
