Mavala Double-Lash Review. Before & After.

My lashes are short, brittle and very susceptible to falling out whenever they please. Often I'd rub my eyes and come away with two or three lashes on my fingers! Not. Good. I'm not sure why this was happening, if it was because I wear glasses all the time or some eye make-up was doing bad things to my poor eyelashes. I don't usually wear mascara either, maybe once a week if your lucky because it just smudges on my glasses and I hate that!
On a mission to make my lashes stop falling out and start growing I went on the hunt for a serum that would help. I read a lot of reviews on all sorts of so called miracle workers, and in the end I went for the Mavala Double-Lash Night Treatment over the Indeed Labs Pepta Lash (my second choice) for a few good reasons. 1) Cheaper. 2) More product for your money. 3) They both had similar/good reviews, with Mavala leaving slightly better results it seemed.

So did it work for me?

These before pictures were taken at the beginning of February - please excuse the fact they are pretty terrible and don't even show you my eyelashes all that well... I blame the photographer.  Also not sure why there's a tiny hair under my eye. It's probably a cats.

After - nearly 9 weeks later.

I don't know if it's just me hoping it's working but I do feel my lashes are thicker and not a sparse as they were before. I don't think they're any longer yet because they've been busy healing and growing back all the ones that had fallen out! Once I was using it I noticed almost straight away that my eyelashes weren't falling out at all anymore and since February I've lost maybe two lashes max (that I've noticed).

I've been applying this stuff religiously every night and a few mornings too (It makes my lashes look nice and thick when it's on) and the little bottle is still going strong. With 10ml of 'miracle elixir' it's going to last me with no problems the whole of its 6 months opening time (we all know mascara products should only be kept this long right?!). There's no doubt I'll repurchase to keep my lashes strong and prevent them from falling out! It's also worth mentioning that this doesn't irritate my eyes at all as they can be quite sensitive to some things, hence all the eye rubbing!
This can also be used on eyebrows and I have been running it through them now and again but it more often than not slips my mind so I have nothing to report in that area.

If you're looking for something to help your eyelashes grow/stop falling out/thicken up I'd definitely recommend the Mavala treatment, I know I've only tried this one serum & maybe I'm biased because it worked for me when I really wasn't expecting it too, but for £11 compared to some that cost an arm you really can't complain.

The Mavala Double-Lash Night Treatment costs £11 for 10ml from Look Fantastic (I got mine from boots but it was a little more expensive).

P.S Sorry about all the no makeup close-up eyeball shots. I know some people hate things like that!

  1. I tried this a while back (and blogged about it actually!) and didn't like it at all :( I'm glad it worked for you, but for me it felt like a huge waste of money.

  2. I've heard good things about Mavala products and this does look like it worked. As I don't have the thickest of lashes, I might give it a go :)

    Much love,

  3. I've never tried such a product but even if it's doing a little, it's doing something and I'd rather have to use a product for a while and get results than use it a few times and then results turn out to be inconsistent. I guess it's different for everybody and it takes more time to work for some : ) Thanks a lot for the review, never heard of this brand before ^^ Anyway, I hope you can stop by my blog later, I have a little something going on at the moment, in case you might be interested hehe Have a great day darling <3 xx

  4. Omg, this is exactly what I need. I've been holding back on wearing mascara lately because I always lose one or two of my lashes when I take of my makeup at night. Thank you for this post! :)
