Whimsical Nails

Normally I'm not the best with painting my nails, I can go months without a scrap of polish and be fine with it, but recently I've been into painting them, especially with my lesser loved polishes. Revlon's whimisical is definitely in that category, It's absolutely one of the prettiest nail polishes I own but good grief it's a pain. The problem is it's so damn sheer! On it's own it can take at least 4 or 5 coats to start becoming opaque, and I definitely don't have that kind of patience.

So instead I used one coat of NYC's Mint Macaroon as a base (probably should have used 2) then layered Whimsical over the top. I used 2 coats of Whimsical as the glitter can be sparse, and what's the point of sparse glitter, I mean really. Go glitter or go home! ;)

Wear time was pretty good, a solid 4 days or so before chipping, but I did use a base and top coat, nothing industrial like seche vite though! I've actually painted my nails twice more since these pictures were taken so you can see I'm on a roll! I don't like posting too much of the same though so won't bore you with another nail post for a while! :)

P.S. I bought my Revlon Whimsical from a blog sale but you could try ebay, it's a shame Revlon never brought it to the UK as I'm sure it would be a sell out, shame on you Revlon!

  6. Argh that combination is so pretty!! I have so many unloved nail polishes knocking about the place, I don't tend to do my nails much anymore because I have an annoying habit of picking it off when I'm concentrating lol xx

  7. I love this colour, especially on nails! So pretty. Mint Candy Apple by essie is a really similar colour if you want a more opaque polish by the way! :) xx
