The Evening Routine.

I've been meaning to follow up my morning skincare post for months now, in fact it's taken me so long that the morning routine has completely changed! Such is life, I guess that just means I'll have to do another eventually ;)

The night time routine is my favourite, and as long as I'm not too tired I take the time to make it a bit of a pamper and add a face mask or two. I also like to have my showers at night as I'm too lazy to dry my hair in the mornings and so use my clarisonic with other face-related things then. But naturally I forgot all about that when taking my photo's, so we'll skip that and call this the 'relaxing routine'... For nights when I'm not using an electrical brush on my face. Shhh.

First up I remove make-up with my latest gem from the B. range at Superdrug, their Micellar Water, super easy to use and removes the bulk of my make-up in a flash. Next is the Emma Hardie longest-name-ever Moringa cleansing balm, which is coming to the end now so I'm cherishing every last drop. I can't believe I've never done a real review of this, but I guess you've all read so many there's not much need! I love it. Definite repurchase eventually but I may try another balm or two first that I've got my eye on! Next I'll follow that with my REN clarifying toner which is lightly exfoliating and very refreshing (review here).

Most nights I slather on Hydraluron, especially if I've used my Clarisonic, it helps to keep my skin balanced and hydrated. Then I follow with either my Night-a-mins or the Dr. Jart Water-Max Sleeping mask, both are light and sink in easily. I usually mix in a few drops of the Antipodes Divine Face oil with both as my skin has been quite dry lately. Last but not least is a coat of the Mavala Double Lash to strengthen my weedy eyelashes.. results are looking good and I swear they've gotten thicker but I've not been using it for six weeks yet!

And that's it! There's a few other products I use here and there when needed, but thought it best not to ramble on for hours, you're welcome.

  3. I'm buying the Emma Hardie cleanser as soon as I run out of my Botanics Cleansing Balm which should be soon enough and I can't wait! I've nearly finished my tube of Hydraluron and I still can't make my mind up on it but I think it's something where I'll notice the difference when I stop using it... And I love the Dr Jart Sleeping Mask! Love how light it feels on the skin :)

  4. Love posts like this :) this sounds like such a nice routine - I have the micellar water and find it can sting my eyes a bit, but it removes make up really well! x

  6. I've never thought of mixing a face oil in with my moisturiser, I'm definitely going to try it, I also really want to the the Jr Jart mask, I don't really get on with the Origins drink up one so I'm looking for an alternative.

  9. I NEED Hydraluron to be more readily available in Canada! I've been scouring the shops, but it's hiding from me! I also want to look into the Mavala Double Lash -- they're an all-natural line, aren't they?

  18. WOW, such a massive routine haha! You are a very dedicated individual :)

I wonder, have you ever done an experiment where you haven't used any of this stuff for a week and see how your skin is? I've tried it a couple of times with my own regime, and I can't believe the world of difference - my skin will become oily in my t-zone and flaky dry in others and dirty looking not to mention break out in a huge rash of pimples!
