The Spot Fighters.

2 weeks ago, my skin had a sudden acne explosion after a stint of relatively happy clear skin. I could have cried, it was awful. I didn't want to go out at all and just sat in sulking for a few days feeling sorry for myself. The blemishes were all around the lower half of my face and they were really quite painful little buggers.

Of course as soon as trouble started I was up and trying to fix it. Layering up my skincare, using a mask nearly every night and dabbing on the spot treatments throughout the day. If I told you every product I used we'd be here all day and this might aswell be a 'skincare collection' post. But it's not and so I'm sharing with you the cream of the crop, the ones that I felt really helped the most when put to the test.

First up is Lush's tea tree toner - so beautifully cooling after cleansing, I stuck to using it twice a day throughout the break out to stop any infections spreading and my skin getting worse (thanks to all that tea tree being antibacterial and antispetic, lurverly!). After that I would always use Hydraluron to boost the moisture in my skin after using clay masks more than usual. It's important to keep blemishes moisturised  so you don't end up with awful flaky areas, the worst!
During the day I would rely on my trusty blemish zapper Etat Pur's Salicylic Acid 300 to stop them from getting any worse. For night I dug out something I'd forgotten about for awhile, REN's resurfacing AHA concentrate. I hadn't used this is such a long time because of my clarisonic (together = way too much exfoliation) but decided it should get back in my life asap! Used every other night this helped calm those devil spots straight away and is currently helping fade the scars a little at a time. I love this stuff, so glad to have dug it out of my stash!
Lastly is that tiny little sample pot! It's the Origins Clear Improvement mask, a little different to my other clay masks as this one is actually more charcoal based. I used this just dotted on the offending areas nearly everyday and I think it really helped take the pain away (didn't look too great though ha!) Such a great mask, I may need to get the full size ;)

Do you have any tried and tested methods when all hell breaks loose on your face?! Tell me your secrets!

  6. I haven't heard a lot of these product names before! I love lush. Their cleansers are pretty gentle on the skin, and I heard their spot treatment is not bad either. I love tea tree, you can actually feel it clearing up the bacteria or redness if any.
When hell breaks loose on my face, I cleanse my face a bit longer than usual, making sure all the tricky spots like around my nose gets all the product! I would borrow my sister's spot treatments because I don't have any specific ones myself. But what's important for me is to keep my face clean and oil free 24/7!
