Clarisonic Classic - 1 month in & first impressions.

I was a pretty lucky girl last month on my 21st birthday and spoiled rotten with a lots of amazing things, including a Clarisonic Classic off of my lovely mumma (buttering her up because I know she reads my blog!). I wasn't expecting it at all as I hadn't asked for anything in particular so I was incredibly excited when I opened the giant box it came in! woo!

I've been using it for a month now and thought I would do a little post on my initial thoughts and what not. Even though I'd been lusting over one for an age, I was still incredibly nervous to begin using it as I'd of course heard all the horror stories about spotsville and it just really not working for some people. I decided against using it twice a day as really that's just too much for your poor skin, and so used it everyday in the evening for about 2 weeks straight. First off is the sensation, it is so strange, especially on your nose where it tickles, though I think I'm a lot more used to it now. It can hurt if you press too hard, I find it hurts more on my forehead and the apples of my cheeks if I'm pressing too hard.

I absolutely love the super refreshed and clean feeling you're left with after using it, that has to be the best thing about using a Clarisonic, your skin just feels so clean! After the two week mark I noticed that my skin was starting to become clearer, scars were beginning to fade and the lumps and bumps around my cheeks weren't as lumpy or bumpy, yay! I got a little lazy though and began taking breaks, either from laziness at night or wanting to use skincare that shouldn't be combined with the clarisonic (chemical exfoliators and such). Last week I noticed my skin was beginning to go wild, super oily and super dry in some parts - not breakouts just... being crazy. So I'm back to using it every night now while I sort it out, I don't think it was wholly the clarisonics' doing, it's been the cold weather, central heating and trying out new products too. Hopefully we can be friends again soon :)

Overall, the Clarisonic has been pretty amazing and if you've been thinking about it for a while you should just get one! or put it on your christmas list at least ;) Honestly, I didn't go through the 'purging stage' but I think thats because I took it easy and didn't go OTT, normally my skin loves a good bit of breakout action (joyous), so I was surprised when nothing really happened to it... (still waiting in fear).

I'll post another update in a couple of months, hopefully by then I'll have flawless skin, no bumps, scars, spots or craziness! ... only time will tell, but to be honest I think it's about time in my life that I had nice skin for once.. pretty please?!

  1. Thanks for the first impressions post! I've heard a lot about the Clarisonic Mia, but not the Classic one. I want to try the Clarisonic but the fact that it's so expensive and that a 'purging state' is quite common scares me off! xx

    1. I don't really think there is much of a difference now that they have the mia 2! I know, it's pretty scary but worth it in the end!?
