Barmy over cleansing balms?!

I'm so witty *cough*. Anyway, I don't know about you but lately all I ever seem to read on my favourite blogs is cleansing balm this and cleansing balm that. Maybe I'm exagerating but it does seem like they're everywhere at the moment!

A couple of months ago I picked up the Champneys super rich cleansing balm after reading about it on Caroline's blog. She mentioned that it was perfectly fine for all skin types and was more of an exfoliator than a cleanser because of the ever so slightly grainy texture. & I have to agree!

The two main ingredients are avocado and jojoba oils so it's lovely and soothing on the skin, it also contains bergamot, lavender, rosemary and peppermint oils so it smells amazing! The texture is on the grainy side, but it is not rough or in any way too harsh on your skin (in my opinion) it's just sort of there and very gently exfoliates as you massage it in. I wouldn't use this near the eyes as it could irritate them so I use this as a second cleanse when I have removed my make-up.

I use a flannel to remove it with warm/hot water (it suggests cold but it leaves a film when I do that yuck). It comes with a useless little muslin cloth that I still haven't taken it out of the box. Seriously people, use flannels.

All in all, a lovely product to use once or twice a week, it leaves my skin really soft, and followed with something like liquid gold or REN's resurfacing concentrate your skin is baaaaby soft by morning. For only £11 you can't go wrong and it's a great way to see if you like balm type cleansers before splashing out on the likes of Emma Hardie or Antipodes. Next on my list of budget friendly balm cleansers to buy and try, Botanics!
